About Pločica
Pločica u Podroomu is the second Pločica grill in Pula, following the original venue at the city market. It occupies the former Podroom premises at Budicinova 16, a space remembered locally from its earlier life as a tapas bar.
The setting combines stone arches, wooden beams and indoor dining areas with a courtyard centred around a lemon tree. The service remains informal and focused on grilled food, making the venue suitable for a relaxed lunch or dinner rather than a formal restaurant experience.
Pločica began at Pula Market in 2023. The Podroom location continues the same approach, including the established meat preparation process, ćevapi recipe and regional accompaniments.
Food & Drink at Pločica
The central speciality is ćevapi made from a blend of beef and veal, served in several portion sizes with lepinja flatbread and onion. The recipe comes from Bosnia, while the traditional accompaniments include kajmak from Zlatibor and Macedonian ajvar. The meat is ground and seasoned in-house and rests for 65 hours before grilling.
The wider grill menu includes cheese-stuffed ćevap, spicy Southern ćevap, gourmet pljeskavica, cheeseburgers and grilled veal. Vegetarian visitors can choose a soy-based veggie burger or a vegetable plate with lepinja, kajmak and ajvar.
Drinks include Czech Budweiser on draught at the Podroom location, Istrian wines from Geržinić, local Martesi rakijas and a broader bar selection.
