About Dino Makovac Public Swimming Pools Pula

Dino Makovac Public Swimming Pools Pula is a modern municipal swimming complex in the Veruda sports area. Opened in 2018, it provides facilities for residents, recreational swimmers, families, organised sports clubs and swimming or water-polo competitions.

The complex was originally known as the Pula municipal swimming pools. In December 2022, it was officially named after Dino Makovac, a long-serving Pula swimming and water-polo coach, teacher and sports educator whose work influenced generations of young athletes.

The facility is managed by Pula usluge i upravljanje d.o.o. Public swimming shares the timetable with swimming clubs, water-polo training, recreational programmes and sporting events, so visitors should always check the latest schedule before travelling.

The largest pool measures 34 x 25 metres and is designed for swimming training, water polo and competitions. It has a uniform depth of 2.2 metres and an official water-temperature range of 26.8–27.3°C.

A warmer multifunctional pool measures 25 x 10 metres, with a depth ranging from 0.85 to 1.30 metres and a water temperature of 29°C. Younger children can use a separate 7 x 6 metre pool with shallow water between 0.20 and 0.50 metres deep, maintained at 30°C.

The complex also includes bio, Finnish, Turkish and infrared saunas, a hydromassage pool and a fitness facility. Five changing rooms, seating for 320 spectators and 32 listed parking spaces support both everyday use and organised sporting activities.
